Centre For Cyber Crime Investigation, Goes Live in Uttar Pradesh
A team of 10, sits in a building in Noida, Sector 6, trying to keep us all safe from cyber crime. While some are tracking suspicious e-mails others are looking into data-acquisition, recovery, social media investigation, and mobile phone surveillance. The young Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav laid the foundation stone for this, a few months back. This is the Centre for Cyber Crime Investigation, Uttar Pradesh’s first cyber crime cell which was inaugurated by U.P. Police director general, Javeed Ahmed on 9th May, 2016.
This cell is being technically supported by National Association of Software and Service Company (NASSCOM) and is furnished with state-of-the-art tools to tackle cases related to financial fraud, data theft, and social media crimes against others. Till now, Noida police used to take help from other states in solving cyber cases but now, thanks to our Digital CM, the U.P. Police is well equipped to nab them not only in the state but also in other regions of the country. The lab is already equipped with high-tech equipment and more will be added to the list, very soon.
