A first— EC to live webcast MLC polls in Uttar Pradesh
In a first ever, the Election Commission of India will go for live webcast of polling at sensitive booths during the elections to 36 seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council on March 3. Elected public representatives will cast their votes to elects MLCs from the local authorities constituencies. Around 938 polling stations will be set up for the MLC polls across the state in which nearly 1.26 lakh voters will exercise their franchise using ballot papers. Counting of votes will be on March 6. All the political parties including Samajwadi Party, BSP, BJP and Congress have fielded their candidates for the polls.
