Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Akhilesh Yadav has made tremendous efforts in order to bridge the gap between the government and his people. Various e-governance schemes have been given rolled out and other being improvised upon in order to with expand the reach of government’s digital services. These include services for certificates such as Caste, Income, Domicile, Birth/Death, Khatauni etc.
Citizens also get to apply for online Pension disbursement for the old age, widow, handicap etc. This has till date benefitted more than 45 lakh pensioners of the State. Other major services include online bill payments like house tax, water tax, appointment for patients in government hospitals and a grievance redress system to resolve various civic concerns.
The portal http://uponline.up.nic.in/ provides single window access to all related information and services being delivered by the state Government entities. People can also find links to the websites / web pages of Government Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations on this portal. Uttar Pradesh is gradually advancing to a stage that will mark it as digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.
