Emergency Services in UP is Now Just a Tweet Away

Uttar Pradesh Police under the dynamic leadership of young and progressive CM Akhilesh Yadav, has started a twitter handle @callup100 to further strengthen its ambitious project Dial 100. As an introduction to Uttar Pradesh State-Wide Dial 100 Project, this twitter handle aims to provide prompt integrated emergency services for public safety to all residents, including those with special needs, anytime, and anywhere in UP. Using this twitter handle, citizens can upload complaints, pictures, videos, and documents on twitter. The project is coming at the cost of Rs 2,325 crore. Once the project is launched, 4,800 vehicles would be active in 75 districts of the state, of which 3,200 would be four wheelers and 1,600 two wheelers. Police officials said that all these vehicles would be equipped with GPS. The response time under Dial 100 has been fixed as ten minutes for two-wheelers and 15 minutes for four wheelers. The police will also be able to record all the calls and information digitally which will be used in further investigation. For this project best in class technology partners have come together to serve the citizens of Uttar Pradesh.

“The project is envisaged to have a single contact centre catering to police emergencies of the population of the entire state where citizens can connect through multiple media like phone, SMS, email, social media, etc. The new twitter handle is a part of the dial 100 project,” said Anil Agarwal, ADG Traffic, Uttar Pradesh.

Looking at all these initiatives, we can say that safety, security and reduction in crime rate are the top priority of Akhilesh Yadav. Let us congratulate the UP Government for ensuring that UP Police is better equipped to tackle safety issues of not just the state but also its citizens.
