Digital CM Akhilesh Yadav provides instant help to cancer stricken father, after daughter tweets to PM and CM
The creator of digitization in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has reached our several times to the people who urged for immediate help through social media platforms. Be it providing financial help or medical aid, CM has always extended immediate help. In yet another incident which took place during the recent demonetisation crisis in the country, Digital CM displayed an appreciation worthy act of kindness by providing medical and financial help to a cancer stricken father.
Helpless 25-year-old daughter from Agra had reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UPCM Akhilesh Yadav for help on twitter. She tweeted saying or rather crying that she couldn’t stand in long bank queues, leaving her cancer-stricken dad alone at home.
Her Father, Nitya Prakash, 52, was diagnosed with oral cancer. Her family had been battling financial crisis for the past three months, but unending queues at banks following demonetisation made it almost impossible for her to withdraw money to buy her father’s medicines.
She also expressed her helplessness to spend hours waiting for cash withdrawal at banks and ATMs as she was the only one in the family taking care of ailing father. Without losing a moment, Digital CM Akhilesh Yadav intrusted his team to immediately follow up with Juhi and give her every possible help in times of need.
This wasn’t it! What happened next, was something young daughter Juhi could have never anticipated. She received a call from the CM’s office, informing her to meet the tehsildar with relevant documents. She also received a call from the district magistrate regarding her father’s medical help.
Tehsildar Sardar Vishveshwar Singh said that after verifying the documents, an assistance of Rs. 6.5 lakh for the treatment of her father at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Delhi was given by UP Government.
Juhi could not believe their fate and is was at a loss of words to thank the CM Akhilesh. Grateful Juhi from Agra tweeted several times thanking UPCM and also urged to meet him and thank him personally for standing by her in her most tough times.
The power of digital media and social networking sites is for everyone to see. But what’s more interesting is that how our chosen leaders are taking this medium to connect with their people and be more accessible to them. Akhilesh Yadav has given India yet another example of governance par excellence. Hope our respected PM is taking a cue.
